In this post, I’ll weigh-in with some of the most important benefits about each of these brands, in an attempt to see which blender reigns triumphant in the Blendtec Vs Vitamix Blender Battle Royale.
A Little Background
Everyone has their favorite kitchen appliance – that goes without saying!
One of my favorite kitchen appliances is my (almost) antique blender.
This blender has served me well for many years, but it just doesn’t have the power or the capacity to handle some of the more-demanding requirements I have for it these days.
As I started researching Which Blender To Buy I quickly narrowed down my choices to two of the best blender brands available: Blendtec and Vitamix.
Since I was going to do the nitty-gritty research to compare these two brands for myself, anyway, I figured why not share my findings to help you answer the question: Which of these brands is the better blender for me?

Blendtec Vs Vitamix – Blender Battle Royale
As any wrestling fans should know, a Battle Royale is a match between multiple of the best and biggest wrestlers all of whom are vying for dominance.
While an actual Battle Royale includes many contenders, I thought it would be fun to frame this Blendtec versus Vitamix Review in ‘fight’ terms.
I hope you find this post useful – and a little bit more entertaining than the usual review post!
Please let me know if you liked this review format, as well as which blender you prefer by posting a comment in the Comments Section below!
The Challenger: Blendtec
Blendtec blenders are the true workhorses of the High-End Home Blenders.
They are solid, maybe a bit bulky, loud, and strong and for the serious home cook one of the best home blenders money can buy.
But there’s a champion that Blendtec must overcome for their blenders to reign supreme: The Vitamix Blender.
The Champion: Vitamix
I think of Vitamix blenders as the older, more established and more experienced home kitchen appliances, as compared to Blendtec.
Vitamix is clearly the defending champion in this Battle Royale, but don’t let the newer, more polished appearance of Blendtec’s blenders fool you – Blendtec blenders pack a serious punch!
Below, we’ll look at some of the features of each brand, as well as some pros and cons of specific models, to see which blender stands above the rest among serious home chefs.
Blendtec vs Vitamix – The Comparison
In this post I am going to compare some of the most popular blender models each of these companies has to offer.
Since each brand offers so many different makes and models, it is important to compare blenders that are similar in style, functionality and price point.
In keeping with the ‘Battle Royale’ or ‘Fight Theme’, I’m going to use different weight classes – just like on a typical Fight Card.
Fight Card
I’ll present a Heavyweight Match, Middleweight Match and Lightweight Match.
- Heavyweight Bout: Blendtec Professional 800 Versus Vitamix 36019 Quiet One
- Middleweight Bout – Blendtec Chef 600 Versus Vitamix A3500 Ascent
- Lightweight Bout – Blendtec Total Classic Original vs Vitamix E320 Explorian
There are just too many different models to compare them all.
The goal is to help you decide whether you should buy a Blendtec blender or a Vitamix blender.
Regardless which blender you ultimately decide to buy, you really can’t go wrong with either of these brands.
Commercial Versus Home Use Blenders
One last note regarding this review…
Both of these brands offer professional-level (i.e. Commercial Grade) Blenders that are suitable for restaurant use.
While you can certainly use either of these brands’ commercial blenders at home, I am specifically focusing on the Best Blenders For Home Use in this comparison article.

Both brands offer Limited 7-Year Warranties on their blenders, but please check the actual warranty details for the specific blender you intend to purchase, as these may be subject to change.
Blender Buying Guide
Introduction
I’ve put together a quick buying guide to give you a quick overview of some of the important things I think about before making an online purchase.
Assess Your Needs
Always ask yourself HOW you are going to use the item – whether it’s a blender or something else – try to determine what you will use the product to accomplish.
Taking a few minutes to think about what you will use the blender to do will save you a ton of time when making your final purchasing decision.
For example, if you realize you are buying a blender because you only want to mix fruits and vegetable to make smoothies for yourself, immediately you can eliminate all of the high-capacity, high-powered, and most expensive blenders from your list!
On the other hand, if you have a big family and need a blender to quickly make large quantities of healthy soup for the upcoming week, then maybe you need to focus on blenders that have high-capacity jars.
Just thinking about how I will use the appliance in my kitchen, beforehand, has really enabled me to find products that enhance my cooking and fulfill a significant purpose.
Create A Budget And Stick To It
This may sound like common-sense advice, but you wouldn’t believe how many times I’ve gone to the store or starting perusing items on Amazon, with the intention of buying something…
…but without any idea of how much I wanted to spend!
One of the things I did before wring this Blendtec versus Vitamix comparison article as I went blender shopping online’ is determine what my budget was, beforehand.
If you’re curious, I am squarely in the Middleweight Range – LOL!
Understand It’s Not Always Necessary To Buy The Most Expensive Model
Just because someone may be able to afford the most expensive blender, doesn’t mean they have to buy THE MOST EXPENSIVE BLENDER IN THE WORLD?
Sure, maybe that blender is something that you need (or want), but it probably wouldn’t fit in your kitchen!
I realized a long time ago that it isn’t necessary to buy the most expensive model – blender or otherwise – to be satisfied.
Make Sure To Do An ‘Apples-To-Apples’ Comparison
Both, Blendtec and Vitamix offer many different makes and models of blender.
It’s a bit overwhelming, which is one of the reasons I decided to put together this comparison review.
The main point here being that it’s important to compare blenders of similar size (capacity), functionality, features and, yes, price point, to adequately compare the different models.
I had a fun idea to do this Blendtec vs Vitamix Review as a Fight Card with different ‘Bouts’ in order to specifically compare similar blender models from each brand.
Weight classes are used in boxing to level the playing field and the same is true when deciding which blender to buy.
It wouldn’t make sense to compare the most expensive Blendtec Model to the least expensive Vitamix Model, just as it wouldn’t be fair for Mike Tyson to fight Roberto Duran.
Read Online Reviews
I find online reviews to be one of the best ways to get insight into the quality of individual products.
But the key here is that – in order for the reviews to be relevant – there has to be more than just one or two reviews. I look for products with a lot of online reviews.
Having many reviews helps eliminate the situation where maybe someone gets a bad product by accident and gives negative feedback.
It helps me, at least, to get a lot of different opinions before deciding which blender to buy.
I also find a lot of value when reviews include how people are using the item.
Perhaps there’s a use or application that I hadn’t even thought of.
Frequently Asked Questions – FAQs
Blendtec Vs Vitamix – Which Brand Is More Expensive?
It really depends on the individual model blender you choose.
Vitamix tends to be the more expensive of the two brands, but I did my best to try to compare similarly priced blenders in the Blendtec vs Vitamix Comparison Review.
Here are two quick links to view the prices of each brand of blender on Amazon:
- View The Entire Line of Blendtec Blenders on Amazon
- View The Entire Line of Vitamix Blenders on Amazon
It really pays to take the time to evaluate all of the features of both brands before deciding which blender to buy.
Blendtec Vs Vitamix – Which Blender Is Quieter?
Vitamix tends to have the quieter blender out of these two brands.
Vitamix blenders are costly, but the design is excellent, using sound-dampening technology and high-end motors.
Blendtec Vs Vitamix – Which Brand Has Been Around Longer?
Vitamix is the longer and more-established of these two brands – which is why I referred to Vitamix as the ‘Champion’ in this Blender Battle Royale.
If you’ve read any of the Amazon reviews, people really swear by their Vitamix blenders and Vitamix are definitely some of the best and most durable and versatile blenders I’ve used.
But there are a growing number of kitchen warriors who prefer Blendtec Blenders over Vitamix and that contingent seems to be growing.
It is really important to decide for yourself, review the Blender Buyer’s Guide above, and asses your needs before making your final purchasing decision.
Why Is My Blender Making So Much Noise?
There are a couple reasons why a blender could be unusually loud.
Anything from a bad motor that is about to die to a broken piece of plastic in the wrong area.
Steps To Take If Your Blender Is Unusually Loud
Some blenders, especially lower-end blenders, can be quite noisy.
However, if you have a Vitamix or Blendtec blender that seems to have gotten louder over time, here’s what to do:
Step 1 – Remove the Jar
Step 2 – Run a blend cycle without the jar attached
If the blender is quieter, then the problem is with the jar and all you have to do is buy a new compatible jar for the blender model you own.
However, if the noise persists without the jar, then the problem is most likely internal – whether a broken part or a problem with the motor itself.
In the second case, you will have to send the blender in for a replacement – which is why it is very important to buy a blender – whether Blendtec or Vitamix – that has a solid warranty.
